Addicted to Blush Tag!

Although I'm currently more into eyeshadows and lip combos, I've always been a blush person (as I'm sure you can tell by the photo above, which is not my entire collection...) so when I was tagged by Gummy of Gummy Vision to do this blush tag, I literally jumped at the chance!

1. What blush color suits you the most?
A light cool-toned pink or a pinky nude blush.

2. Pressed, cream or loose blush?
Cream. Out of the 78 or so blushes I own (..yeah...let's not talk about it), I probably have more powders but I prefer cream blushes!

3. Favorite shimmery blush?
Clinic Blushing Blush in Aglow. I have this in a sample size that I must have gotten years ago, and it imparts such a beautiful sheen to the cheek with just a hint of peachy gold colour.

Swatches L to R: Shiseido Carnation, Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #10, Clinique Aglow,
Le Métier de Beauté Ginger Lily
4. Favorite matte blush?
Is it bad if I say I don't have one? At a push I would say Shiseido Carnation, but in general I don't wear matte blushes. I guess most of my cream blushes are technically matte, but I always associate 'matte' with powder blushes, rather than cream ones.

5. Favorite cream blush?
Ginger Lily by Le Métier de Beauté, hands down (this is also my favourite blush of all time). It's the perfect dewy pinky-nude blush that goes with every look. The Creme Fresh Tints by LMdB get zero love in the beautyblogosphere, which blows my mind because they are so good!

6. Favorite drugstore blush?
I only have a handful of drugstore blushes, so I'm no expert. But I like Milani Luminoso, and back in the day I liked the Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural.

This packaging. I can't even.
NARS Sin is the only blush I've ever hit pan on. Mainly because
there was a period of time that this was the only blush I wore.
7. Favorite high end blush?
I would say Le Métier de Beauté Ginger Lily, but in an effort to vary some of my answers, I will say Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #10. The Sheer Blush line was sadly discontinued by Giorgio Armani, but I think enough people have #10 to make it worth mentioning.

8. Favorite bright blush?
Chanel Le Blush Crème in Chamade. This line is another one that has sadly been discontinued, which is a bit of shock given that these were only introduced by Chanel a couple of years ago. Chamade is still in stock on Chanel.com and Nordstrom, though! It's a vibrant red pink that blends in beautifully to the skin. I use a stippling brush with this (and all of my cream blushes) to avoid having too much of a clown face.

9. Biggest blush disappointment/regret?
Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush in Hydrangea Pink No. 10. I was so excited to try this when I picked it up a few years ago, but the shade was nothing special and I found that the formula was a bit patchy. I've not tried another Burberry blush since, but the cult favourite shade 'Earthy' is waiting for me (I ordered it in the Sephora Burberry Box). I'm hoping I have better luck with that than I did with this.

L to R: Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in Love is the Drug, Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Embrace
10. Best blush packaging?
NARS. Just kidding. NARS: your packaging is terrible. Sort it out mate.

No, my fave blush packaging is a tie between Charlotte Tilbury and Kjaer Weis. Charlotte Tilbury wins out for the sheer fact that her blushes look like nipples and that makes them a winner in my book! Kjaer Weis, on the other hand, are heavy and shiny and chic.

11. What's on your blush wish list?
I really want to try Chantecaille's cream blushes and I'm doing everything I can to get my hands on Becca Damselfly, but it seems to have been abruptly discontinued and is OOS everywhere.

12. Number 1 Holy Grail Blush?
When Gummy tagged me to do this post, I commented that it's so hard to choose between my blush babies and it is! The struggle is real: I love so many of the blushes in my collection. But, I've got to tip my hat to Le Métier de Beauté Ginger Lily as my #1 favorite/most worn. But I also love my Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #10, my Becca Shimmer Soufflé Blush Tints, my ByTerry Cellularose Blush Glacé, my Givenchy Bucolic Poppy (aka Dexter Blush), Sue Devitt Koh Samui, Too Faced Baby Love, YSL Crème de Blushes, etc.

One overlooked blush that I wanted to specifically highlight is the Watercolour Fluid Blusher in Cherub by Daniel Sandler. It is so easy to apply (shake the bottle, apply a drop to the back of your hand, go in with a stippling brush) and it melts into the skin like no blush I've ever seen. I wish more people would overcome their fear of a watercolor blush and give these a chance!

I won't tag anyone specifically to do this post (because I'm terrible at keeping track of who has done them already and who hasn't!) If you do this tag, please let me know—I love to read these kinds of posts!

And head to BloglovinInstagram, and Twitter to follow me!
