For much of my beauty life, pink has been a color that I like, but not one that I've been particularly drawn to. Something must be in the water, though, as I've realized that (based on unscientific calculations) approximately 98% of my purchases this month have been pink! From baby doll pink to barbie pink to rose to fuchsia, I. Cannot. Stop. And nor do I want to. Adding some pink into my beauty routine has given me some much needed variety, and I've realized how much I like it!
Full reviews on the products shown above will be forthcoming, but to give you a taste here are some of my initial impressions:
Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Palomino: I love Bite Beauty as a brand and already own a wide range of their products (from the High Pigment Pencils, to the Matte Crème Lip Crayons, the Cashmere Lip Creams, the Agave Lip Mask, the Lush Lip Tints, and the Lush Fruit Lip Glosses). Until recently, the Luminous Crème Lipsticks were the only major part of their collection that I didn't own. I remedied that with Palomino, which is a bright, cool-toned pink. It was hard for me to choose a shade, but I think I am going to love this one.
ByTerry Cellularose Blush Glacé in 01 Rose Melba: I've been lusting after this blush for months and have heard only good things about the natural, luminous finish it gives. It is a bit pricey (at $58) but I ordered it through b-glowing.com and got to use a 20% discount code, so that helps ease the pain of the price! I cannot wait to use this.
Lipstick Queen Sinner in Bright Rose: This purchase was inspired by Estée of Essiebutton (ok, so the shade that she has talked about is Hot Rose, not Bright Rose, but potato-potahto, right?) Lipstick Queen has a neat Sinner-Saint line where they do the same shade in a matte, opaque formula (Sinner) and in a sheer, glossy formula (Saint). I am tempted to get the Saint in Bright Rose, just for comparison...
IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush in Je Ne Sais Quoi: While this product looks almost white in the tube, it is one of those 'mood lipglosses' (like the Dior Lip Glow) that reacts with your body chemistry to create a color that is unique for everyone. On me, it pulls a cool mid-toned pink that I (unexpectedly) love! Plus, it's super comfortable to wear.
Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé in Lychee/Opal: When these were first released, I wasn't interested as I feared a repeat of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush, which I did not like. After reading some favorable reviews, though, I caved. Don't I always? This bad boy is suuuuuper shimmery, so I'm interested to work with it and see if it can be wearable.
Formula X Nail Polish in Power Source: This color is on my nails as we type. It was a bit thicker than I would have liked when applied, but it has a beautiful glossy finish and the color is awesome. It's an almost neon orangey pink. I have high hopes for this bad boy. I'll report back on chippage over the coming days!
