For day time, my default is Dior Crème de Rose. It smells of roses and leaves an ever so subtle pink sheen to the lips. At night, I like to slather on a layer of the Bite Agave Lip Mask--it's exceptionally thick so it lasts on my lips until morning.
Best eye-catching red?
Givenchy Le Rouge in Carmin Escarpin has become my go-to red. It has an orange undertone, but less so than my other fave red, Tom Ford Wild Ginger. The formula on both of these is super comfortable and easy to wear, despite being such bold colors.
Best luxury & best drugstore?
Luxury: Givenchy Le Rouge. I simply cannot get enough of the formula and packaging on the Le Rouge line AND they just released 12 new shades. I've already ordered one from Sephora.
Drugstore: L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire. It was harder for me to pick a drugstore favorite, because for lip products I buy a lot of drugstore, but I mostly wear higher end. As a brand overall, I would say Revlon wins the lip category. But as for a single product, I love the L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaires. I reviewed the shade Coral Encore here, and the pigmentation, glossiness, and lasting power are fantastic!
Best MAC lipstick?
I only own a couple of MAC lipsticks (I've never been much of a MAC girl), so I guess I'll say Viva Glam V, which is an easy-to-wear, everyday shade.
The most disappointing?
Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani Sheer Lipstick. I love Giorgio Armani Beauty. Their foundations, blushes, and literally every other type of lip product I've tried from them have been phenomenal. I think that is partly why I was so disappointed in the Rouge d'Armani Sheer Lipstick. It feels almost greasy on my lips and doesn't last long at all. I also wasn't in love with the shade I got, which never helps.
Liner - yes or no?
No, but I want to one day be able to say yes. I own a handful of different lip liners, including a few that are clear or are 'reverse' liners. Yet, I hardly ever wear them, even when I'm wearing a bold lip. I don't have a huge problem with my lips feathering and putting on liner often seems like an unnecessary step. With that said, I'd like to try to use them more under the obscene number of glosses I own to create new combinations.
I own more lipgloss than I do any other single category of makeup, so this question was by far the hardest and most excruciating to answer. After some brutal eliminations, I would say that my all time favorite glosses are by YSL, both the YSL Gloss Volupté and Golden Gloss (now discontinued, I believe). They have beautiful colors and sit comfortably on the lips, plus YSL packaging is always ultra chic. Guerlain KissKiss glosses are also consistently stellar. For more budget friendly options, I like Buxom and Revlon.
Everything by Bite Beauty. Over the past two years, Bite Beauty has stood out to me as one of the most innovative and consistently good cosmetics lines. I love that they focus solely on lip products and that they use food-grade quality ingredients. From the Agave Lip Mask to their glosses to their high pigment pencils (the shade Cranberry reviewed here) and new matte pencils, I love everything. My standout product from Bite Beauty has to be their Cashmere Lip Creams (I reviewed the shade Sancerre here).
Another honorable mention has to be the Too Faced La Creme lipsticks. They are so pretty and glossy, and the shade Jelly Bean (review here) is probably my all time favorite lipstick ever.
