Sephora Pro Flawless Airbrush #56: My trusty Sigma F80 flat top kabuki has seen better days and I knew it was time to replace the little fella. After soliciting some recommendations, I decided on this brush. It works beautifully with every foundation I have tried thus far. The bristles are dense, yet super soft. And because it is rounded at the edges--rather than straight like the F80--buffing and blending in foundation is even easier. Plus, at $32, it's not crazy expensive. Available at Sephora.
By Terry Cellularose Blush Glacé 01 Rose Melba: I recently blogged about my love for this product here. For pictures and a more in-depth review, head there but I will say this: this blush is like nothing else I've ever tried. My skin looks flawless when I wear it. I couldn't ask for anything more in a blush! Available on b-glowing for $58.
Carven Le Parfum: I'm currently on a self-imposed fragrance ban, as I have approximately 1.8 million perfume samples to work my way through. But in the meantime, I'm making the most of a deluxe sample of Carven Le Parfum I received from Sephora (bizarrely, Carven Le Parfum is not available at Sephora, even though Sephora is the one that recently sent me the sample). Many scents on the market all blend together in my mind, but Carven is quite unique. I can't describe scents to save my life (I feel it is akin to trying to interpretive dance about mathematics), but it is fresh with hints of citrus and floral notes. Give it a sniff if you can! Available at Nordstrom, $84 for 1.7 oz.
Lipstick Queen Bright Rose Sinner: After seeing Estée of Essiebutton wear Hot Rose by Lipstick Queen, I promptly trotted on down to my local Ulta. While there, I was distracted from buying Hot Rose by Bright Rose, which you can see in my post here. Bright Rose is a gorgeous shade and I can't stop wearing it. It is a warm rose color and while it is bright, it's not so in your face that it's offensive or unwearable. Plus the formula is excellent. Creamy, smooth, and long lasting! Available at Ulta for $22.
YSL Kiss & Blush Color for Lips & Cheeks: This is yet another product that I've already raved about, but it deserves another mention here! For some inexplicable reason, I let these remain untouched for months after I purchased my first two. Big mistake. Huge. When I finally got around to using them, it was love at first sight! They world so well on both the lips and the cheeks and have a gorgeous, blendable texture. The shade range is to die for, as well. I've already ordered another shade. Available at YSL for $40 (they are running their 20% off Friends & Family Sale until 30 June, though...)
Maybelline Full n' Soft Waterproof Mascara: Although I like to mix it up and often change mascaras, for years I've always gone back to Maybelline Cat Eyes Waterproof mascara. The main appeal of Cat Eyes was that it held a curl better than any other mascara I had ever tried. I started to notice that it was letting me down in the volume department, however. Maybelline Full n' Soft offers both the curl holding power I love + a lot of volume, without being clumpy. It's the best of both worlds.
Anastasia Contour Kit: I apparently missed all of the hype on this product when it was first released. I didn't even know it was a thing until I started seeing a bunch of excited tweets and posts that it was 'finally back in stock!!!!!' earlier this month. Being the impulsive hoarder that I am, this of course meant that I had to have it. To be fair, though, I have worn it every single day since I bought it. It makes both setting my undereye concealer and contouring ridiculously easy. This is one impulsive purchase that has proven to be awesome. Available at Sephora for $40 (it is currently sold out online, but register your email address for a notification of when it's back in stock. Also, my local store and the NY Times Square store have a bunch in stock, so it's work checking in person.)
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist: Me and nude lips are not friends. I love the look of nude lips on others, but I always feel like a nude lip looks weird or off on me. I theorize that it is because I have naturally mauve lips, so I'm not used to seeing myself in an actual nude, but who the hell knows why I am actually so averse to nude lips! The Soap and Glory Gloss Stick in Nudist has been a welcome addition to my pack, despite this. It is semi-sheer and gives a beautiful gloss to the lips, so I find it easy to wear. I've been throwing this on my lips anytime I don't feel like wearing something bold. It's a great, versatile shade to have. Available at Sephora for $18.
