Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Cream in Napa

Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Cream in Napa
If you read my review here, you know that I am a huuuge fan of the Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip CreamS. My first purchase of this product, in the shade Sancerre, is one of my favorite products of all time! My only complaint about the line was that there were only initially only six shades available.

It is therefore no surprise that I started jumping for joy when I happened to notice that four new shades popped up on Unfortunately, none of the new shades were available for swatching in my local Sephora store and I couldn't find any swatches online anywhere, so I made the somewhat rash decision to blindly make an online order....which gave me the chance to not only pick up this product, but also a couple of other new products from Bite.

I was instantly drawn towards the shade 'Crianza,' which is described as a dark pink with a red undertone. But I was also worried that it would be too similar to the Sancerre that I already own, so I instead opted for Napa, which is described as a deep cotton candy pink.

Top: Napa; Bottom: Sancerre

Disappointingly, upon receiving Napa I wish I had followed my gut and ordered Crianza instead. On Sephora's website, Napa looks like a dusty rose shade. In person, it is a full on warm bubblegum pink, which is neither a shade that suits me, nor one that I would ever choose to wear. Adding insult to injury is the fact that Napa emphasizes the lines on my lips (which was not the case with Sancerre). I've never tried any of the other lighter shades of the Cashmere Lip Cream, so I am not sure if it is something specific to Napa or common to all of the light shades.

L to R: Napa, Sancerre
Thus, with a heavy heart, I have conceded that Napa is just not for me. I will, however, be picking up Crianza soon...and probably another shade or two from this line.

The Cashmere Lip Creams are available at Sephora for $28. They are currently available online and should be in stores soon.
