Ray Ban Aviators

Ray Ban Aviators RB3449

I know, I know. I'm about 15 years late to the Ray-Ban party. While everyone else on planet earth was rocking Wayfarers or Aviators, I avoided even trying on anything by Ray-Ban. I've always had trouble finding sunglasses to fit my (squarish, yet round?) face, and while I was always drawn towards the aviator shape, I assumed it would look terrible on me.

Segue to earlier this year when I tried on a pair of my friend's Ray-Ban Aviators. It was love at first sight. I pretty much immediately felt far more bad ass and amazing. The main problem was that the model she had (RB3449) was no longer produced. But I loved their look more than any other pair, so I began a quest to find them. It turns out that the black frame and black lense combo is rare these days in the Ray-Ban world.

Six months later, I was doing a bit of casual late night online shopping (as you do) and I stumbled onto bluefly.com. Bluefly is a site that I have looked at before, but have never made any purchases from there. They carry designer brands at discounted prices (because the stock seems to be last season, etc). As I was looking at the Ray-Bans, I saw a pair that looked exactly like my friend's and after a quite check of the model number, I confirmed that they were indeed the pair I had been hunting for!

Originally priced at $150.00, Bluefly had them on sale for $110. Then, I was able to apply an additional $25 off coupon (which I found on retailmenot.com). I did have to pay for shipping, but even with shipping and taxes, these bad boys came to less than $100. A solid 33% discount! Shipping was fast and my sunglasses came well-packed with a bunch of extra goodies in the box as a welcome. Total win-win.

What's the best deal you've ever scored online?

    1. It's such a great site! I'm useless with coupons when it comes to stores in real life. But my ability to search for a code to use when online shopping is unparalleled :)
