New YSL Rouge Volupté Shine

Model seems to be wearing 06 Love in Devotion
A few days ago, a cheeky little email popped into my inbox from YSL. Being one of my favourite beauty brands, I immediately opened it and, much to my delight, it announced the arrival of a brand new lip product: the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine.

These lipsticks promise "protection, comfort, wet-looking shine, homogenous color that doesn't smudge." They are supposedly a hybrid of the Volupté Sheer Candy (which were oft-criticized for being too sheer)  and the classic Rouge Volupté line. While I like the Sheer Candy line (see a review of Tangy Mandarine here), I am a sucker for anything new and pretty!

The description of the Rouge Volupté Shine had me at "wet-looking"--I love anything in the sheer, glossy family. (Sidenote: does anyone else find the description of a lipstick colour as "homogenous" a bit odd? I am guessing they mean that the colour isn't patchy, or that it fades evenly? Your guess is as good as mine!)

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in Rose Infinite
As of right now, these are available only on, but they offer free shipping and often have discount codes floating around (I always check RetailMeNot for codes, or just do a google search). After studying the 16 available shades, I have ordered Rose Infinite, which looks like a browny neutral pink.

Once Rose Infinite arrives, I will post swatches online asap. In the meantime, Best Things in Beauty has swatched three of the shades (Pink in Devotion, Pink in Confidence, and Nude in Private).

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine available on in 16 shades for $34 each.
