March Beauty Army

March Beauty Army Kit
As with my review of March's Birchbox, better late than never with a review of my March Beauty Army kit. While I still think the concept of Beauty Army (which allows you to choose your own samples each month) is great, in execution I am starting to become a bit disappointed with it.

Firstly, while you do get to select your samples, you get to choose six out of nine products, which are recommended for you based on your survey (allegedly). It would be fantastic if there were more than just nine products to choose from--especially as I am now seeing many of the same products month after month. Plus, a lot of my 'recommendations' do not fit the preferences I selected in my survey. Nonetheless, for only $12 per month, I'm going to stick with Beauty Army for another few months and see how it goes! This may be based on my love of receiving mail more than anything else, but that's another story.....

Anyways, the products that I received in March were:

  • Babor Sun Lotion SPF 30
  • Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil
  • BeFine Night Cream
  • SunFX Body Shimmer
  • Freeman Beauty Pssssst! Instant Dry Shampoo
  • Control Corrective Anti-Wrinkle Face & Neck Cream

As you can see, very heavy on the skincare (if I recall correctly, I wasn't even offered any cosmetics this month). The product that I am least excited about is the SunFX Body Shimmer....I haven't worn body shimmer since I was in my early teens, but there was literally nothing else that I wanted from the selections. I'm sure I can find someone to put it to good use though. On the other hand, I am super excited about the Pssst! Dry Shampoo (there was also a dry shampoo in my Birchbox, and I think I will do a head-to-head competition with them).
