BOTD: Bobbi Brown Apricot

Bobbi Brown Apricot Blush
It's no secret that I love bright blushes and that I have many of them in my stash (some of which you can see here). Subtle peaches and corals simply don't suit my skin tone, so while I try to branch out now and again, I generally stick to what I know and what I love. But despite already having many in my collection, I am really impressed with my latest addition: Bobbi Brown Apricot Blush.

Apricot is a gorgeous matte color, unhelpfully described on Sephora.com as a "bright apricot." In my mind, I think of apricot as being close to a peach color, which this blush most definitely is not. In reality, it's a bright, slightly rosy pink shade. The texture is silky, but not as much as my Givenchy or Rouge Bunny Rouge blushes. But it's not chalky and while it is quite pigmented (more than my Tarte 12-Hour Amazonian Clay blush in Amused), it is very blendable.

I am hardly the first beauty blogger to rave about this blush (I think I first heard of it from Saskia the Style Fairy, who called it her all time favorite blush) and I can definitely see the appeal! It is a lovely shade, I really like the sleek square packaging, and at $24 it's not too pricey either. I can see this becoming a go-to staple in my collection for years to come.

L to R: MAC Florida (cream), Chanel Tweed Fuschia, Bobbi Brown Apricot, Tarte Amused
I quickly swatched Apricot next to a few similar blushes and it's closes to Chanel Tweed Fuschia. Tweed Fuschia has a slight shimmer, where Apricot is matte. And Apricot seems ever so slightly warmer than Tweed Fuschia. It has more red/fuschia tones than Tarte Amused, which is a true pink. And it has less purple to it than MAC Florida.
