I Want Becomes I Have

Last week, I expressed a desire to own this: a Le Métier de Beauté Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss in the color Orange Juiced. My lust was partly triggered by the adorable name and partly by this post on The Beauty Look Book. Online information about this collection (the Jet Set Resort Collection) was scant, to say the least. But I did read that Orange Juiced was supposedly available at both Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. Unfortunately, my online searches of both websites was fruitless.

Thus, I took matters into my own hands and called the nearest Neiman's--a 3 hour drive--to see if they had the lip gloss (a) in stock; and (b) if they were willing to ship it to me. I am happy to report that the answer was yes on both counts and that I am now the proud owner of this gorgeous gloss. And for those of you who don't want to go to the hassle of calling a store and giving your card details over the phone, it is also now available online.

Le Métier de Beauté Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss in Orange Juiced

Orange Juiced is a bright, true orange shade in the tube with yellow/gold flecks of glitter. On the lips, however, it is far more sheer than it first appears. It definitely gives a hint of orange to the lips (almost peachy, really) but it is very wearable--undoubtedly because it is so sheer. As I have never owned any orange piece of makeup in my life, I was relieved that this was incredibly wearable! I have no doubt that it would probably suit darker or warmer skin better than my own. But until I can work on a summer tan, I think it gives me a pop of fresh spring color and livens the face!

It feels very light going onto the lips and is not sticky at all. However, the trade off there is that it has very limited lasting power. But because it is so sheer, it is simple to reapply while on the go. The microflecks of glitter do show up on the lips upon closer inspection, but they are so fine that the gloss doesn't feel at all gritty on my lips. Not the most unique formula of gloss I have encountered, but if you are a gloss lover like I am, you may want to have a look at this beauty.
